Graduate Admissions
| |
Applications are invited from students in a variety of disciplines, especially in the fine arts, humanities,
and social sciences. The department welcomes inquiries from all regions of the world as well as the
United States, and encourages applications from minorities and under-represented groups in the USA.
Applications which include a request for a teaching assistantship should reach the Art History Department on or before February 15. This means that your application
should be submitted to the Graduate School by approximately February 1, to allow time for processing.
If you are not applying for an assistantship, your application must be submitted at least two months before the start of your first semester of courses.
However, early submissions are recommended, since timely reviews of applications cannot be promised for late arrivals.
Please note that, in addition to the Graduate School application requirements, the department
requires a writing sample (thesis or seminar paper) and a personal statement which relates the applicant's research interests
to the program's offerings. Applications may be submitted, in paper form, or online.
